Empathy Classes (PreK-6)

Build a more respectful school environment with the power of empathy! Students will learn to identify and consider the feelings of others in these fun, interactive classes.

K-2 Educational Objectives

1. To define empathy.
2. To show situations where kids can imagine what others are feeling.
3. To teach the consequences of failing to consider the feelings of others.
4. To teach students how to tell how others are feeling through body language and tone of voice.

3-6 Educational Objectives

1. To define empathy.
2. To practice reading body language and tone of voice to interpret how others might be feeling.
3. To role-play using empathy.
4. To encourage students to be kind at all times.

CLIMB offers three classes about empathy–one for preschoolers, one for grades K-2, and one for grades 3-6. Each class is age-appropriate and carefully crafted to help students learn how to be empathetic and kind to their classmates. Through role-playing, scenes, games, and discussions, students will discover how to put themselves in another person’s shoes and treat others the way they themselves would like to be treated.
