Meet the Team
Founder & Executive Director
Peg is CLIMB’s founder, Executive/Artistic Director, and principal playwright. She is an accomplished actor and director with experience in creative dramatics, special education, and arts administration. Peg is the winner of the YMCA’s Outsanding Achievement in the Arts Award and was named “Woman of Distinction” by KARE 11.
Producer of Excellence in Performance
Buffy is an actor, director, and playwright who has been the producer of CLIMB’s performing company for 10 seasons. Her plays have been produced at theatres around the country and her credentials as an actor include performances at the Guthrie, the Ordway Center for Performing Arts, and Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. Buffy also has several film credits, including Grumpy Old Men.
Producer of Excellence in Teaching
In Lauren’s five years at CLIMB, she has created and led numerous programs for adults and children. She has worked as a theatre educator for the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis and at Pittsburgh Public Theatre. A prolific actor, Lauren has performed with Theatre in the Round and Theatre Coup D’Etat in Minneapolis and Pittsburgh Rep and Gemini Children’s Theatre in Pittsburgh.
Outreach Engineer & Director of Development
Katie is an accomplished communications professional with a decade of experience in marketing, social media, and PR. Before coming to CLIMB, she worked as the Communications Director for an international events company and as the CEO of her own marketing firm. Katie has a BA in Theatre from Utah State University and is passionate about CLIMB’s mission and work.
Jessica is a bookkeeper and non-profit administrator who began her career in 2005 with Art Lab Inc, a fine art school and gallery in NYC. Jessica has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah University in Virginia and has 10 years of experience as a professional theatre artist. In addition to her work at CLIMB, Jessica continues to work on theatre projects in her spare time.
Outreach Dispatcher & Chief Morale Officer
Michael is in his 9th season with CLIMB and has worked as an actor, Actor-Educator, Maintainer, and Outreach Conductor. When he’s not providing contacts with star customer service, Michael is performing with theatres around the Twin Cities, including Park Square, Theatre Coup d’Etat, Freshwater, Pillsbury House, and Artistry. Michael has a BFA in Acting from from Milikin University.
Justin was an actor for CLIMB before joining the Outreach team. He’s a graduate of Wartburg College with a BA in Theatre, where he worked as the News Director for the campus radio station. Acting credits include the MN Fringe Festival, Meditech Communications Films, and Samaritan Casting. Directing credits include productions with the Northfield Arts Guild, Lakeshore Players Theatre, and the Eagan Theatre Company.
Dylan comes to CLIMB after graduating with her BA in English and Political Science from Luther College, where she was involved with the student newspaper and radio station. In addition to scheduling programming for CLIMB’s partners, Dylan manages CLIMB’s blog and social media accounts. Dylan would like to add that Luther College is better than Wartburg. Go Norse!

Jim Gambone, Chair
President, Points of View
Dr. James Gambone is CEO of Points Of View, a film, design and consulting firm. Jim was on the Board of Directors at Capella University and is a faculty member in the School of Public Service Leadership. Jim was a Drop-Out Prevention Specialist on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and a Resource Training Director with the Mpls Public Schools where he developed and delivered curriculum and training programs. Jim’s Ph.D. is in bilingual/bicultural education.
Representative Joseph Atkins
Member Minnesota State Legislature
Rep. Joe Atkins is an attorney in his fourth term as a member of MN’s House of Representatives where he chairs the House Commerce and Labor Committee. At the age of 21, Joe was elected to the IGH School Board and at the age of 26, he became IGH’s Mayor, a position he held for 10 yrs.
Bonnie Matson, CFO
Principal, Springsted Incorporated
Bonnie Mattson has been with Springsted, one of the largest independent financial advisory firms in the U.S., since 1984. She became one of three owners in 1993. With offices in 6 states, Springsted provides financial advisory services to cities, school districts, colleges and universities, and non-profits. Bonnie has a degree in Business, is a CPA and a CMA.
James Olney, Lawyer
Associated Financial Group
James Olney was a plaintiff’s attorney before joining Associated Financial Group in 1999 where he provides guidance to employers regarding a myriad of issues related to having employees. James writes articles on employment issues and regularly conducts training for both managers and HR professionals.
Professor of Directing in the School of Theatre and Film at Arizona State University
Artistic Director, Triple Espresso
Bill Partlan is Associate Professor in Directing in the School of Theatre and Film at Arizona State University. He’s worked with new plays and playwrights like Alan Ball, Lee Blessing, Jeff Hatcher, and John Patrick Shanley. He has directed for the O’Neill Center’s National Playwrights’ Conference including premieres of August Wilson’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “Fences”. Bill has directed off-Broadway and for PBS’s American Playhouse.
President, Job Done
Job Done is a consulting firm working in management, program planning and mediation. At the U of MN Milan was a personnel manager, a training director for 10,000 state employees and an organizational development consultant to various departments. Milan worked in race relations training at the Illinois Department of Corrections. He has been a public school teacher, a nanny, a school administrator, a community action program director.
Sales Director, YottaMark
Christine’s positon with YottaMark culminates a long career in sales and marketing in the food industry. Christine’s passion for education, however, continues as well. Christine is an adjunct professor at Concordia College in St. Paul, MN.
